ANCHORAGE (Jan. 9) – Alaska Anchorage men’s basketball head coach Rusty Osborne announced Saturday that sophomore center Malcolm Campbell has left the Seawolf program.
"In the past week, Malcolm has come to me and indicated that he no longer wishes to attend school,” said Osborne, whose Seawolves begin Great Northwest Athletic Conference play tonight when they host Montana State Billings.
“After consulting with his family, they confirmed that he is 'burned out' from school and has desired to take a break and return home to Los Angeles,” Osborne added. “Although Malcolm has left our program, we wish him success in his future endeavors.”
Campbell, a 6-9, 265-pounder, was UAA’s second-leading scorer through 11 games with 14.7 points per game. The Division I transfer from the University of Hartford was shooting a team-best .566 from the floor and also led the Seawolves in free throws made (34) and attempted (59).
